Checkatrade

Checkatrade is an online marketplace within the home improvement and repairs industry, and, since its launch in 1998, has been committed to championing trade excellence. Every trade that wants to join must pass up to 12 checks before they can gain the seal of approval. And Checkatrade carries out spot checks of its members to ensure they continue to receive (authentic) customer reviews to a high standard. 

The Chameleon team was brought in to assist with completing the migration to Braze against a tight deadline and ensure that all templates and journeys were set up in an optimal way so as to make the platform transition a seamless one. Additionally, we were tasked with using our Liquid expertise to build a series of reusable templates and components.

Steps to success

  • Extracted all templates from the previous platform and redeveloped them for use in Braze. All campaigns and canvases were up and running by the time the old system was decommissioned.

  • Primarily focused on the Trade side of the business, and migrated over a total of eight verticals.

  • Dovetailed Checkatrade’s internal tech knowledge with our Braze expertise to optimise the setup, personalisation and targeting of various campaigns and canvases – mainly through the use of Liquid in the templates.

  • Developed a component library with dozens of templates which can be easily repurposed, as and when required.

  • Provided training to upskill the Checkatrade CRM team in using Liquid, and to self-serve using the content library we built.

Completing the migration to Braze on schedule would not have been possible without the help of Jess and the team. ChameleonCRM collaborated well with our MarTech team, ensuring that our campaigns and canvases have solid foundations in place to get the most out of this new ESP.

In particular, the template library makes it quick and easy for us to get high-quality campaigns out the door in quick time – while also helping to simplify some of our journeys. We also appreciate the training and support provided to our CRM team, who now have the skill-set in Liquid to better personalise our comms, and benefit from Braze’s functionality more broadly.
